Series 1: Body Parts
At the beginning of 2023 Melynda von Wayward began an in-depth exploration into the medium of digital collage and created a body of work that combines selfies, provocative body shots, the countryside and more.
Melynda von Wayward is part of every image. These images are meant to both confront the viewer and ask them to think abut how women are viewed on an aesthetic level in society (often as a series of body parts - ass, tits, legs, etc.).
By incorporating digital images of her own face and body, Melynda is re-examining and reclaiming these images of herself so that they may become part of an alternative and empowering narrative.
