Series 1: Body Parts
At the beginning of 2023 Melynda von Wayward began her exploration into the medium of digital collage, and what resulted was a body of work titled Body Parts.
These images are meant to both confront the viewer and ask them to think abut how women are viewed on an aesthetic level in society (often as a series of body parts - ass, tits, legs, etc.).
By incorporating digital images of her own face and body into every piece, Melynda is re-examining and reclaiming these images of herself so that they may become part of an alternative and empowering feminist narrative.
